A SKATER’S DREAM AT MILLCREEK COMMON

Retro roller skating and classic ice skating in one place? Sign us up! Opened in June 2022, Millcreek Common Skating Rink is located in the newest public plaza in Salt Lake City.

Millcreek Common offers roller skating in the summertime and ice skating in the winter, to keep you cruising in a circuit all year long.

Looking to channel some retro vibes? Dust off your roller skates, and show SLC all your tricks. If you ever got together with friends for weekend roller skating at Classic Skating back in the day, then you’ll want to check out Millcreek Commons for a new spin on nostalgia. Easy to access from all over Salt Lake City, Millcreek Commons creates a nostalgic vibe with the bonus of being an outdoor rink.

Open from June to the end of October, roller skating is available seven days a week at Millcreek Common. With admission fees and skate rental fees only $5 each, Millcreek Common is an affordable way to spend an evening. Roller skating enthusiasts should enquire about their members' punch pass for reduced rates.

But hey, don’t think that the fun stops at roller skating! Stop by on Thursdays for their Food Truck Rally. Trucks change each week, so check out the Millcreek Commons calendar for an updated list. Normal’s ice cream truck will be there weekly so you can make your way through their menu with items like a Candy Bar Cone, or an Earl Grey Tea ice cream bar.

If you have a competitive nature, bring your skates for G.O.A.T Fridays where unique challenges are laid down, all in the name of bragging rights… and the Friday Night G.O.A.T. title.

Get your groove on (on wheels) on Saturdays for D.J. Skate Night. Popular local DJs play upbeat music that will make you want to try out a special move or two.

When December 1st strikes, so does the crew at Millcreek Common as they turn the roller skating rink into a sparkling ice rink.

Time to lace up a different kind of skates, as you shake off your Bambi legs and start gliding around the ice. No triple axles are required to have a good time as you make your way around the rink designed for winter-time fun.

Though the skating rink is reason enough to visit Millcreek Common, it is also home to the Springs Splash Pad if you work up a sweat with some fancy roller skate moves. A great way to beat the Utah heat in the summer, the Splash Pad is open until 9pm most nights in June, July, and August. Young families will also enjoy free Playtivities at Millcreek Common, an ever-changing interactive activity offered each weekday.

Winter or summer, cold or hot, we’ll see ya at the rink!
