GOT BRUNCH? OUR TOP 5 BRUNCH SPOTS IN SLC

Salt Lake Days | Best Brunch in Salt Lake City

If loving brunch is wrong, we don’t want to be right. Especially if we’re brunching at one of our favorite Salt Lake City brunch spots. We’ve rounded up five of the best spots to grab brunch in SLC so get ready to check them out and enjoy their delicious food… just save us a seat, okay?

Cafe Silvestre

Though it’s new on Salt Lake City’s brunch scene, Cafe Silvestre has quickly become a fan favorite. Located a few miles from Downtown Salt Lake City in West Valley, the restaurant is a quick drive on the freeway from anywhere in the valley. Forget the extra side of pico de gallo, Cafe Silvestre’s menu of Mexican food brunch is packed with so much flavor, you won’t even need it. Spice lovers will appreciate the Huevos Divorciados, while those with a sweet tooth should try the Tres Leches French Toast or Churro Pancakes. Wash it all down with one of the restaurant’s signature brunch cocktails. Still one of the best-kept secret brunch spots, they’re only open for brunch on Sundays so get there early!

Roots Cafe

Tucked away just south of Downtown, is Roots Cafe. The perfect spot for enjoying drool-worthy dishes under brightly covered umbrellas when the weather is warm or tucked away at their cozy indoor tables when things cool down. Wherever they seat you, consider yourself lucky because once you get a bite of their food you’ll understand why they get so busy! The Benni, their eggs benedict, is the best of the best! HOT TIP: Try swapping out the tomato for avocado, and add a rasher of bacon. You can thank us later. Sample the Gardener Omelet for a veggie-packed meal, or the house-made Apple-Pecan Cranberry Bread Pudding French Toast (yes, it’s a mouthful) for a flavor combo you never knew you needed. Whatever you order, don’t forget to add on the thing they are known for - GF Buckwheat Pancakes.

Prohibition

Take a trip to the roaring 1920s when you step through the secret doors of Prohibition. The speakeasy vibe creates an ambiance that promises a good time, and the food didn’t come to play either. You can grab brunch every day of the week (is that ever a bad thing?), but definitely make a reservation on the weekends as this joint gets busy! Once you’re seated, sit back and relax while you imbibe their specialty mimosas. With flavors like hibiscus, kiwi lemongrass, and watermelon shrub you may have to try them all to find your favorite, but we’re not judging. When it comes to food, the Bourbon Caramel French Toast is a must-try, with the Chicken & Biscuits coming in a close second.

Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade

Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade offers up a fun spin on flavors, from drinks to bites. Not to mention, every delicious flavor is created in-house and from scratch. Kick-off brunch with one of their refreshing housemade limeades, like the Honeydew Cucumber Mint Limeade or the Habanero Limeade for something with just the right level of spice. Adults might prefer to indulge in a Lara Jones, a limeade and sparkling wine combo. Order the Hoss for a meat-filled breakfast, or Biscuit Bread Pudding French Toast for a batter-smothered homemade blueberry biscuit.

Whiskey Street

There is no better place for brunch Downtown than Whiskey Street. Located on a street that once shared the same name, Whiskey Street is known for its old-time vibe… and strong cocktails, obviously. But don’t take our word for it, grab a seat at the bar and try a Prairie Bloody Mary with Guinness, or Silver Mountain Rose with Whiskey and Kahlua. Give your drinks somewhere to land by indulging in the restaurant’s equally delicious food. You can’t go wrong with the Short Rib Eggs Benedict or their Bourbon Glazed Sticky Buns. Need something read, while you wait for your food? Check out their menu to read about how the restaurant got its name ( we promise, it’s some Utah history you don’t want to miss).
